I have been taking a break from my usual techniques, and revisiting

an older style that focused more on line and mark-making.  Notice the

colors...ready for summer and dreaming of the beach!

November 11, 2011:

What an exciting day in Bentonville, Arkansas...Crystal Bridges Museum

of American Art officially opens today!  So grateful to have such a spectacular

collection of art in our own backyard. 

After a busy couple of weeks doing the final prep for the Modern Organic

show, it is wonderful to be back in the studio creating again.  New works-in-progress 

are shown below.  These are part of the continuing Waterside series.       

Don't forget...the Modern Organic exhibit will be up through

January 2, 2012 in downtown Bentonville...minutes from

Crystal Bridges.  :)  See the EXHIBITIONS link for details.                    

Studio Update, Week of 11/7:

Planning to be in town for the opening of Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art? 

Stop by the Modern Organic exhibit at the Bentonville Convention & Visitors Bureau

Gallery, at 104 East Central,  on the Bentonville square. (Two doors down from Table

Mesa.)  The exhibit runs through January 2, 2012.

New in the studio, week of 10/17:

Shown are a group of paintings that are in progress and will

be included in my upcoming show, Modern Organic. 

In the studio, week of 10/10:                    

MODERN ORGANIC is my new exhibition that is opening next month.  This is one of the paintings I am working for this series.  And YES, I am working outside again!  The sunshine, blue skies, and balmy temperatures  were calling my name...how could I resist?  :)

New in the studio, week of September 5th:

I never paint outside of my studio – ever!  But, with the

amazing fall weather I couldn’t resist setting up a painting

area & doing a little plein air painting – abstract style. 

Shown is a new painting:  

Flutter,  48” x 60” ,  Acrylic & Pencil on Linen.   

New in the studio, week of August 29th:

Summer colors always find their way onto the canvas during this time of

year.  Shown below is a 36" x 60" painting that is on the easel.  This is in

the middle stage of the layering process...

New in the studio, week of August 22nd:

Did you know that the Pantone color of the year is HIBISCUS pink?   Here are two of my

very pink works-in-progress and the flowers that I am using for a live color reference...
